LOCAL ATTRACTIONS

The closest attraction to The Paddock is of course that it literally sits at the foot of the Cleveland Hills, part of North Yorkshire Moors, with fantastic views of the Hills, the property is ideal for Walkers and Cyclists to explore to their hearts content.

 

There are a number of routes for walkers and cyclists, both easy and more challenging which are accessed directly from the lane next to the property, including up to Highcliffe. Famous and picturesque Roseberry Topping and Captain Cooks Monument can we walked to or a short 5 minute drive which allow 360 degree views to the coast and across North Yorkshire.

 

Guisborough is central to many other areas with the Coast at Redcar a mere 15 minutes away with its long beaches and famous Whitby fish and chips only 30 minutes.

There are lots of things to do and see the within the local area, with just a selection below.

Guisborough Attractions

Gisborough Priory, www.englishheritage.org.uk/visit/places/gisborough-priory The Historic Priory nestled in the centre of the town, about a 15 minute walk

Start and finish at the lovely café, with walks for all abilities and play areas for the kids.  Can be accessed by walking or a 10 minute drive from to the car park.

Guisborough Town Centre

Have a relaxed wander around the shops Guisborough has to offer, chill in the cafes, pick up local gifts on Chaloner Street or visit the Pubs!

Redcar – 15 minute drive.  Long beach’s great for walking, fish and chips and ice creams, what’s not to like?

Saltburn – 15 minute Drive.  A Victorian Seaside Town, home of Saltburn Pier, Saltburn Cliff Tramway, Surf School, Miniature Railway beaches and great fish and chips.

Holy Molies Crazy Golf – 15 minute drive.  Boasting the worlds longest crazy golf, this indoor venue also has a restaurant and bar. www.holymolies.co.uk

Teesside Shopping Park – 30 Minute drive.  With lots of shops and restaurants as well as Bowling and Cinema. www.teessideshoppingco.uk

Whitby – 30 Minutes drive.  The Historic fishing Village, famous for its fish and chips, and its 199 steps up to the legendary resting place of Dracula!

Walking & Cycling Trails

You could not be closer to the Cleveland hills from The Paddock.  The lane immediately next to the property is the beginning of the Hills linking to the Cleveland Way.

There are several routes you can take for all abilities, with many of these suitable for walking and cycling.

Guisborough Forest walkway

Highcliffe

Accessible direct from The Paddock, and visible from the front of the property, this is a moderate route taking less than a hour.  Gaining a great view of Guisborough and the surrounding area.

Roseberry Topping & Captains Cook Monument

Located in the village of Newton on Roseberry.  For those more adventurous you can walk here in 90 minutes or a 10 minutes Drive away to the car parks at the base.  There is a also a great pub, The Kings Head in Newton on Roseberry.  You can see much of North Yorkshire and Teesside from the top!
